Institute on Aging (IOA) is an invaluable Bay-Area resource. IOA is a community-based, non-profit organization that touches the lives of thousands of adults in San Francisco, Marin, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. IOA’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for our diverse community and to assist families in making crucial decisions about the care of their loved ones. For over 25 years, IOA has developed and provided innovative programs in health, social service, creative arts, community and professional education. Through our needs assessment and evaluation process, we identify the available and appropriate options to match your specific circumstances and ensure that your family member gets the best possible support.

ElderCare Locater is a public service of the Administration on Aging, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is a nationwide service that connects older Americans and their caregivers with information on senior services.

The Buck Institute for Research on Aging is the nation’s first independent research facility focused solely on understanding the connection between aging and chronic disease. Their mission is to increase the healthy years of life. Resources are available on research, healthy aging, education and news and events in the world of research on aging.

Alameda County Social Services Area Agency on Aging/Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is the local arm of the national aging network. Federal, state, local governments, private agencies (not for profit as well as for profit), work together to advance the social and economic health and well being of elders (60 and over) in Alameda County.

Aging and Adult Services of Alameda County provides programs for seniors, as well as for adults and persons with disabilities and their families. The various programs provide services that maximize self-sufficiency, safety, health, active living and independence. Community partners enrich a wide range of services that include care management, employment, training, volunteer opportunities, recreation and transportation assistance.
